Space Availability - Evansdale Library

EVL Study Room and Active Study Room Policies

  • Users may reserve up to 4 hours in every 7-day period
  • Reservations may be made up to 14 days in advance
  • Users may not make more than 4 reservations in any 7 day period
  • Rooms may be reserved for up to 3 hours at one time.
  • Once a reservation time has begun, the room cannot be cancelled.  Users who do not show up for their reserved time lose that time from their 4 hour allotment.
  • These rooms are not soundproof. Please keep noise at a reasonable level.
  • Your reservation is not confirmed until you receive an email.

EVL Classroom policies

  • Our classrooms are primarily used for library instruction, workshops, and events. These take priority over any other use of the rooms.
  • The classrooms are open for public use on a first come first serve basis when no classes or other events are scheduled. Daily schedules can be found on the Libraries’ room reservation page.
  • The classrooms may be scheduled up to 7 days in advance for non-library related classes and groups. If you would like to reserve a classroom outside of this window, please contact the Student Success and Instruction Department (WVUL_SSI@mail.wvu.edu) . Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis with preference given to instruction.

  • We reserve the right to cancel or move any reservation should the classroom be needed for a library class or event.

  • The Library Information Technology Equipment Service (LITES) assists with use of the equipment.
  • Each instructor/session leader is responsible for getting the equipment set up for classes prior to sessions and turning things off properly after the sessions.

Digital Photography Studio

  • WVU students, faculty, and staff may reserve the photography studio for up to 4 hour per day.
  • To guarantee availability, users are encouraged to reserve the room in advance. 
  • At the time of your reservation come to the library's front desk to check out the Photography Studio Key. You may use your own equipment or you may borrow equipment available at the public services desk. 
  • For immediate assistance while using the studio, contact the Evansdale Library Public Services Desk at 304-293-9759
  • Cameras and equipment are for independent use. The public services staff will not be able to take photographs or recordings of you. 
  • Multiple backdrops and clamps are provided in the room.
  • This space is NOT soundproof. Please maintain an acceptable volume level.
  • Equipment should not be removed from the studio without permission.
  • Retrieve all personal items for the studio at the end of your session. 
  • Please leave the room as you found it, and do your best to keep the space clean.
  • If you are unable to keep your reservation, please cancel as soon as possible. You may cancel by calling the Evansdale Library Public Services Desk at 304-293-9759 or through the room reservation software.
