Activating Urban Space for Health and Movement: Talk by Judith Wasserman In-Person
West Virginia University Art in the Libraries presents Activating Urban Space for Health and Movement: Activating Urban Space for Health and Movement: Talk by Judith Wasserman. WVU Professor of Landscape Architecture Judith Wasserman is the 2025 Art in the Libraries Faculty Exhibit Award winner who received the award for her work, “Activating Urban Space for Health and Movement.”
In today’s world of sedentary work and study, movement is more important than ever for both our bodies and our minds. This exhibit and talk will explore how public space can be a catalyst for physical wellbeing, creativity, and joy. Featuring a series of photo-based display panels, the exhibit showcases images of dance and movement in public spaces, captured and curated to highlight the often-overlooked role of urban design in supporting health. Wasserman's project is on display at the WVU Downtown Library in room 1020 on the first floor.
For her talk, Wasserman will discuss the process of creating this exhibition along with her research.
This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required, but is encouraged for planning purposes.
