A Celebration of West Virginia's Role in the Creation of the National Science Foundation on their 75th Anniversary In-Person

The WVU Research Office and WVU Libraries invite faculty, staff, students and community to join a moderated discussion with faculty funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) about the importance of science and research, and the role of West Virginia Senator Harry Kilgore (1941-56) in creating the agency.

The event will take place on Thursday, April 10 at 2 p.m. during WVU Research Week in WVU Libraries' Milano Room at the Downtown Library. Light refreshments will be served.

A temporary exhibit exploring Sen. Kilgore's role in creating the NSF is now on display in the Rockefeller Gallery. Stop by before the event and enjoy a selection of materials from his archives housed at the West Virginia & Regional History Center
