Measuring and Promoting the Impact of Your Research Online

Measuring your impact is an important step in the research process for gathering evidence of how your research will impact society.  It is also important when applying for positions, for promotion and tenure, and for grant funding.  This introductory workshop will provide an overview of traditional and nontraditional scholarly metrics and will discuss tools to measure research impact.  Topics covered include:  Citation analysis; Journal impact factor; h-index; altmetrics; and selecting publication venues.
